Earthquake Nepal 2015

On the 25th of April large parts of Nepal were destroyed by an earthquake force 7.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was in the Gorkha province.

10,000 people passed away and hundreds of thousands of house have been destroyed. The Kiran foundation has taken action to raise money for 2 projects.

 

Project 1: gakul, a former Kiran foundation student from 2014, finished his study to be a doctor and together with his brother and friends. He set up a health camp. They have tents and food packages for the villages around Gorkha. This went really well and helped a lot of people in need.

 

Project 2: a staff member at the hostel has organized together with her staff. They have bought supplies to build houses for the families of the children. They helped the ones who had the most damage due to the earthquake. The manasluschool was also supported and is being rebuilt.
